Hi, I'm Judy
Welcome to my site. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2006 followed by a mastectomy in September of 2006, then a year of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and a ton of pills. Let me tell you about Cancer, I wish this on no one-- "Cancer Stinks!" There were days I didn't think I could cope But you do what you have to do to survive. With the help of my sister and daughter and concern of my family I'm copping. There were so many co-workers, friends, classmates and neighbors to help lift up my spirits.
I very much enjoy the out of doors, gardening, hunting, working on crafts, swimming, fishing., however now I find it difficult to go out in the heat of the day. I do so mind the heat. It is difficult to do a lot of things which you take for granted until you can't do them. It is disappointing but I have my life, my family and friends to be with. I know it could be a lot worse and there are a lot of people that have it a lot worse than me. I should count my blessings!!
Because of the surgery I am no longer able to work at the Roaring Spring Paper Mill, a Job I held for 23 years so I am now officially no longer working.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and this has completely turned my life inside out. Although I had cancer I was not going to let the cancer "have" me so I have fought and now post mastectomy, chemo, and radiation I .Have some treatments till the end of the year I am a Survivor! Now I hope to do a little bit to raise awareness, to get one more person to get that mammogram, to get that one more dollar for research, or for someone that can't afford their exam. Today, there is more hope than ever for people touched by breast cancer. I am an example of that! However, there is still much work to be done to promote early detection and to help those impacted by Breast cancer. To help make a difference, I'm participating in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. I also participate in the local American Cancer Society Relays for Life .
