JIM AND ANNE SCHMELZLE
I thought I'd pass along some information on two of our "Moo Pals", Jim and Anne Schmelzle. Jim is a long time member who entered a design in the contest for the "Moo Hunt Club" logo about 4 years ago. His was the winning entry and can be seen on the home page of the web site, and on anything else bearing the "Moo Hunt Club" logo, including business cards, stationery etc. He has helped Anne in her pursuit of Mary's Moo Moos and anything with spots on it! She loves her cows!!!
Jim has a hereditary kidney disease that has escalated to the point of relying on dialysis. The good news is his wife, Anne, is a match and will be donating one of her kidneys to Jim. Please keep Jim and Anne in your thoughts and prayers as they go through the surgery (Sept. 24th) and recovery process which will take up to 6 weeks.
If you'd like their address to send a card or note, please email us and we'll send it to you. I'm sure they'd love to hear from everyone.
Take care and Get well soon Jim and Anne...Rosemont wouldn't be the same without you!!!

All Your Moo Pals"

MOO MANIACS CHAT
To Chat or Not to Chat?

We recently asked for suggestions on making our chats available to more members, with thoughts of another day and time in mind. Unfortunately, we only received a couple of responses. If you have an idea or suggestion for the chats, email us and let us know. We appreciate the feedback and want to improve our member participation.    Due to the holidays, we are suspending the chats for the month of November and December. This worked our great last year as everyone was busy preparing for the holidays. The chats will return in January and complete details of where and when will be posted on the January 2003 web site. "Hoofy" Holidays to Moo! Carrie and Deb  :)
EBAY ETIQUETTE
Being outbid by a fellow "Moo Pal"??? Don't get discouraged or let the incident affect your "Moo Hunt Club" friendships! ebay should be considered "fair game" when you participate in the auction. The ebay auction site is where a lot of us met and where we all have an EQUAL opportunity to buy and sell; whether to each other, or other Mary's Moo Moos fanatics!!! Have fun...may the high bidder prevail!
SPEAKING OF ETIQUETTE:
Remember, when buying from another "Moo Pal", that the prices they charge may be above suggested retail because they may have paid shipping charges when they bought it and state tax where applicable. Additional costs to consider are long distance phone calls and postage. It is only fair for us to share in these additional costs if we want (need!) the item. For
instance: If I found something for myself and come across something that is on a fellow members "Wish List" I will sometimes pick it up and split the cost of shipping. There is always a chance that it may be sold before I can get the word to them...especially if it is retired or discontinued. If they choose to pass on it...then off to ebay it goes!
AUCTION CAUTIONS
It has come to our attention that several members are having problems with online auction purchases and private sale scams. When bidding on items on ebay or other online auctions, please remember to check feedback on the seller. Hidden feedback usually means a person has something to hide!!! Be extremely cautious when dealing with these sellers, or buyers. Ask the seller questions before bidding on an item. This will clear up shipping costs and give you an idea of how they will conduct the transaction by how quickly they respond to your email inquiry.
We know that everyone is anxious to add the rare items to their collections but beware of offers being made "off ebay". Several members have lost money to sellers who contact them with "deals" after an auction ends. A good rule of thumb is the saying,
"If it's too good to be true, it probably is...TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!" Online auctions like ebay have policies in place to
